Inside Line Promotions – OWASSO, Okla. (March 28, 2018) – Tony Bruce Jr. is Kansas bound this weekend to tackle the 8th annual Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout.
Bruce Jr. will drive the Smith Family No. 86 winged sprint car during the doubleheader at 81 Speedway in Park City, where he’s won during two of his last five starts.
“I grew up in that area of the country so it’s always great to get back there,” he said. “We’ve had some good results at 81 Speedway and hopefully we can contend for another win or two this weekend.”
Bruce Jr. was victorious at the track in 2015 and in 2016. He earned four top fives and five top 10s in seven races between 2014-16. All of the races he was scheduled to compete at 81 Speedway last season rained out.
“Track position will be critical so we’ll need to draw well to start each night and then move forward as best as we can in the heat race to put ourselves in a good position for the A Main,” he said. “I feel confident that if we can do that we’ll have a shot to reach Victory Lane.”
Bruce Jr. and the Smith Family captured one win, five podiums, 11 top fives and 15 top 10s last season.
“We’ve made progress the last couple of years working together,” Bruce Jr. said. “I’m excited to get the first race under our belt and see where we stack up.”
