Another Solid Weekend for the Bruce Racing Team
Jimmy Jones, LITTLE ROCK, AR (April 12, 2010) – Tony Bruce Jr. and the Bruce Racing Team returned to ASCS National Tour action over the weekend with a pair of stops at Lonestar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas and I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Tony finished 10th in Friday night’s A Main at Kilgore after finishing 4th in his heat. Tony was able to race his way into the main event with a transfer from the B, despite not having quite the horsepower he is accustomed to with his Bruce Racing #18. “It wasn’t too bad of night to come from that deep in the field…started 21st…and finish with another top 10,” said Tony.

On Saturday night Tony and the Team returned to I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he has enjoyed the best success of his career. Coming into Saturday’s event, Bruce Jr. had won the last three in a row at Hammer Hill and was eager to extend that streak to four. But, it wasn’t to be this time around, as Tony completed a strong night with a solid top 5 finish.

“Being at Little Rock we pretty much expect to win. We started 8th in the A Main and the track was pretty slick and we weren’t able to get up there. Really wasn’t much surface left to race on out there…but we’ll take a solid top 5 run. We had a hell of a race with Sean McClelland in our heat for the win and it got us in the redraw, but unfortunately I’m not good at drawing.”

As always, the Crew of Wayne Priddy and Jacob Wilson worked hard preparing the car, but they still fought the gremlins that have plagued them thus far in 2010. “The car was pretty good. We felt like we just couldn’t get any grip out of the right rear and it just seemed like we were a little down and out car setup wise. We’ve been struggling with the motor program all year long and we are gonna get that solved,” says Bruce Jr.

Tony expressed overall satisfaction with the weekend, and they managed to keep another streak alive. “We kept our top 10 streak going. I haven’t finished outside the top 10 in a 360 race this year. It was unfortunate that we came home with 5th, but anytime you’re disappointed with 5th you know your team is going in the right direction,” says Tony.
