Inside Line Promotions – OWASSO, Okla. (Nov. 23, 2014) – Tony Bruce Jr. earned four feature victories during the 2014 season, including three wins with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

That gave him at least one win with the premier 360ci sprint car series in five of the last six seasons and during each of the last three seasons.

“I’d say the highlight this year was every time we won,” he said. “It was certainly good to win a race at Devil’s Bowl early in the season. With not having a crew chief when the season started it was nice to go out and win a race early.”

Bruce Jr. picked up a triumph in only the third ASCS National Tour race of the season when he dominated at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, on March 21. He returned to Victory Lane at the famed half-mile track with the series on Oct. 17 during the 41st annual Winter Nationals.

Bruce Jr. sandwiched the wins at Devil’s Bowl Speedway with an ASCS National Tour victory at Outlaw Motorsports Park in Wainwright, Okla., where he charged from 13th to win on June 20.

Bruce Jr. also scored a victory with the Nebraska 360 Sprints at Butler County Speedway in Rising City, Neb., on May 24.

“Winning in Nebraska was really good,” he said. “We had a couple of extra sponsors come on board. It was the home track for Austin Bradley, who is my right-hand man. All of his family was there to see it. It really was a special win not just for me but for so many people involved in the team. That’s what makes this so fun.”

Another standout moment for Bruce Jr. and his One 8 Motorsports team was the Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals, which was held July 31 to Aug. 2 at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. Bruce Jr. charged to a third-place result during his preliminary night and he then maintained a top 10 throughout most of the finale before placing 11th out of more than 100 competitors.

The season culminated with Bruce Jr. finishing in the top 10 in the championship standings with the ASCS National Tour for the sixth straight season.

“The unfortunate thing was I felt like we had a shot to win more races, but we didn’t capitalize,” he said. “Four wins is not something that we’re satisfied with. Then again, four is definitely better than none. This was the first time I’ve ever had more than five DNFs in a season. It was something I’m really not accustomed to. Finishing races is something I’ve always prided myself on. It’s something we’re going to focus on for next year.”

Bruce Jr., who ended the season seventh in the ASCS National Tour championship standings, finished the year ranked seventh in top fives (10) and top 10s (21) with the series.
